Ms. Rogerson's Bio

I am so excited to be at Dorothy Dalgliesh School!

I have been a part of Palliser Regional Schools for a very long time. I used to be a student at Sunnyside School, R.I. Baker Junior High School (it wasn’t a middle school yet back in those days!), and Kate Andrews High School. I began my career at Palliser Regional Schools as a teaching assistant at Jennie Emery School, where I was bitten by the teaching bug!

I then went back to earn my teaching degree at the University of Lethbridge. I was very lucky to get a teaching job back with Palliser Regional Schools at Jennie Emery School in Coaldale, followed by a position at White Lake Colony west of Nobleford, and then Huntsville School in Iron Springs. After a total of 8 years of teaching, I was honored to be asked to be an Assessment for Learning coach for the district. After a year of working with amazing teachers in many different Palliser schools, I was privileged to be offered the vice principal-ship at Jennie Emery School. After two years there I moved back to Huntsville School as principal, and now I am principal here at the lovely DDS!

I LOVE my job and I love kids. I hope to bring to the school a strong culture of pride, positivity, and caring. My goal is to have each and every student feel safe and cared for, and know that they are important, contributing members of our school.

On a more personal note, I live with my fiancé in Lethbridge, along with my four-footed furry family consisting of two adorable miniature Schnauzers, Bobo and Sadie, and my gorgeous cat, Lily. I love taking them for walks in the park (and yes, Lily does come for walks in the park!) and for long hikes in the coulees. I also love the ocean and try to visit it as often as I can. My favorite thing to do at the ocean is explore tide pools (very carefully and respectfully) and to scuba dive.
